Deep cycle batteries storage?

I been storing my Deep Cycle batteries in my garage which is very far away from my room, which the solar panel are working a very long way to get to (two stories). I wanted to know if storing the batteries indoor like my closet. Would it be safe? I read some where that batteries send out gases but not 100% sure if that is true. There are six battery in total.

yeah dont put them in a closet batteries vent out hydrogen so when you have that closet door shut its like a hydrogen bomb in your closet remember when you store those batteries ventilation is the best thing. if their in your garage make sure they are not on concrete floor the floor will suck the power out of the batteries.
