In a standard solar system with central inverter, the whole string of modules are treated as one. Therefore should a single module become shaded, or malfunction, the entire system is brought down to the output of the single module.
With this solar power system, shading is no longer an issue because modules are handled on an individual basis. The reduced output of a shaded module does not affect the remaining modules performance at all.
This means that modules can now be installed on multi-aspect roofs without detriment to the entire power system.
