Is the Sun actually the most Conscious of the chart?

Our sun is our ego. Its what we can consciously act and think like. The moon is more subconscious as your inner self wants something different from your ego. My aquarius wants to fight for causes and help people. To succeed. My moon is taurus and wants to relax, take it easy, and not change. Not at least my surroundings. My mars capricorn is even more unconscious as I become shy around people or when I have to assert myself. I become very reserved. I fear expressing my emotions because of embarrassment. My venus in capricorn wants that kind of a person which is different from my solar needs. My leo south node wants constant attention and craves acknowledgement. I can go on and on. But it seems my most conscious part is my sun followed by moon then mars then south node.

Is that actually true? Then perhaps now the whole natal chart is more important than ever?

The sun is your individuality and the moon is your personality.

Lets simply it.. You are in a big building with different rooms and the windows are tinted blue. The ascendant is the front door. So people looking in see the furniture, the chairs, rugs as blue. This is how you show yourself to the world and this is how tey see you.
By the same token, you will carry this color with you when you leave through the front door. All these different planetary energies will be tinted by this blue.

So Mars in Capricorn , your self-control and self-discipline means you expend energy efficiently. You must have a practical reason to act and when you do, you act decisively.

Venus in Capricorn shows the type of women you attract or prefer and how you see love. With the Red Mars here, it will express in a Red mixed with Blue giving a purple expression.
It does not go agianst your solar needs. This is what you want in love and completes your ego (Sun)

Briefly, The sun and moon are the skeletons and the coloring is affected by the rest of the planets.

So yes, the whole chart is important indeed. Sun sign ans position relates to the area where you will shine best and express.
Jupiter by house and sign will indicate the area where you will be most lucky. and so on etc....
