What is there to do (free!) in Los Angeles, CA?
I moved here from a small town about 3 years ago. There was NO WHERE to when I lived there and thought LA would be full of entertainment. When I was living in Nor. Cal i used to go to the solar living institute, winery's, city of ten thousand buddhas, rivers, dam's, flower gardens... there were so many beautiful places to visit and just hang out! I can't find a thing to do here!! I can't believe it! Can someone help me? I am BORED TO DEATH!
LOL, where have you been looking? = ) Here are just a few things to do around LA, no cost.

Underground Living $63.73 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Underground living refers simply to living below the grounds surface, whether in naturally occurring caves or in built structures.Besides obvious novelty, underground living offers additional benefits when compared to living in traditional buildings, such as a nearly constant comfortable temperature without the need for additional insulation, quiet, resistance to hurricanes, tornadoes and most weapon systems and the unobtrusiveness of such buildings on the landscape. One of the greatest advantages is energy efficiency. The stable subsurface temperature of the Earth saves around 80 in energy costs. If married to solar design, the energy bill can be completely eliminated. Additionally, the noise insulation of the surrounding earth makes underground homes exceptionally quiet, and with a smaller surface area, fewer building materials are used. However underground living can be easily affected by flooding and sometimes special pumping equipment is necessary. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Solar Performance of Courtyard Buildings $154.53 This book examines the concept of the geometry of a courtyard space as an environmentally appropriate design parameter for climatic improvements in different climates. It studies the environmental potential of courtyard forms for microclimatic improvements, with the aim of providing outdoor living and of improving visual and thermal conditions in the surrounding buildings. The book focuses on solar control and studies the geometrical design variables, which directly or indirectly affect the environmental performance of courtyard buildings. The thermal performance of the courtyard form was investigated with the ultimate objective of incorporating systematically the thermal aspect with other aspects of design. A variety of courtyard geometries, in plan, were considered in the book taking the cities of Kuala Lumpur, Cairo, Rome and Stockholm as empirical backgrounds representing the climatic regions of hot humid, hot dry, temperate and cold climates respectively. The book should be useful to architects, engineers and anyone else who is interested in courtyard building design, solar architecture and energy saving in buildings.
