MEMC, good investment for the long haul?

I've been looking at MEMC as at investment. They look to be hanging around the $16 mark due to the current over supply of Poly Silicon & its low price. 2007-2008 high share price values seem to be due to a silicon supply problem. So, will demand drive them as much in the future with chip & solar rallies or have other suppliers entered the market to readdress the balance?

If looking for a good tech stock, I like VMW. Some think the next Microsoft.
