Annual firewood production from managed woodlot?

What is the maximum sustained annual production that can be achieved from one acre of managed woodlot, in the Maritime Northwestern U.S.?

Assume that some of the trees in the woodlot are harvested each year -- at the sustained-yield rate -- and are burned. All of the ashes are returned to the woodlot, but no additional fertilizer or other soil nutrient is added to the woodlot.

You may base the annual production estimates on any tree species that grows in the Maritime Northwest: alder, maple, hemlock, etc.

Note: I'm asking this question so that I can calculate the solar conversion efficiency of the trees: What percentage of solar energy incident on the tree canopy is stored as hydrocarbon-bond energy in the wood mass of the trunk and limbs.

Best way to find out a common MAI for tree species is to talk with a Forest Manager or someone at the Ministry of Forests or even talk with a Forester at one of your local mills to get the information you require.
