Indian Government's Measure for Use of Solar Energy

Indians have embarked on the beginning of the last days of the age of oil. Embrace the future and recognize the growing demand for a wide range of fuels or ignore reality and slowly—but surely—be left behind.

The human activities have always caused an adverse effect on the environment. When the population was small, productive and the available resources were abundant, the conventional sources of energy could be utilized .But with the increase in population and the growing demand of energy has caused in over exploitation of the renewable natural resources worldwide. In order to meet the rising demand, every nation is concerned with search of alternative methods which can efficiently satisfy its people’s wants.  The use of solar energy is one of the striking options available in hand.

India is blessed with approximately 300 sunny days in a year, India’s theoretical power reception is on the land area is 5PWh/yr (=5000 trillion kWh/yr). The daily average solar energy incident over India ranges from 4 to 7 kWh/m2 with about 2,300–3,200 sunshine hours per year, depending upon location. This is much more than current total energy consumption. With such high potential of solar energy government of India as taken several measure to promote to the use of this renewable source of energy. In fact, India was one of the first few countries to realize the critical importance of the renewable energy. India’s late Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi set up a separate department for Non-conventional Energy way back in 1982.

India is one of the rare countries in the world to have dedicated exclusive ministry set up to promote clean, green and environment friendly renewable energy. Another prominent society being formed is Solar Energy Society of India(SESI), its interests cover all aspects of renewable energy, including characteristics, effects and methods of use, and it provides a common ground to all those concerned with the nature and utilization of this renewable non-polluting resource.

For generation of solar energy solar panels are being installed that coverts the heat energy from the sun to electric energy. There are government programs offering incentives and rebates to countervail the cost installation and for the equipment. Government of India has also planned to launch a National Solar Mission which aims to promote the development and use of solar energy for power generation and other uses in the country. The Mission targets 20,000 MW solar powers, by the year 2022.The ministry of new and Renewable energy have organized certain programs to address issues and share the experiences of the stakeholders including NRIs in promotion of Solar Energy in India.

Several schemes for financial support are being announced for the use of roof top solar photovoltaic system and reducing the diesel consumption in commercial establishments, institution, shopping malls, and government buildings facing power shortage during day time.

Smart Solar Inc 3960KR1 San Rafael II Solar Mission Lantern

$40.76

The San Rafael II Solar Mission Lantern from Smart Solar is designed to look like an old missionary lantern and is ideal for providing ambient lighting. The lantern features 2 warm white LED s at its top plus an included candle which contains 1 amber LED used to provide a glowing effect as if a real candle were burning. A monocrystalline solar panel powers the lantern by using the energy of the sun to recharge its NiMH batteries each day. To achieve optimum performance the San Rafael II Lantern should be left in an area that will receive ample sunlight throughout the day. This Solar Lantern offers the option to be hung via its integrated hanging loop at the top of the lantern easily held for portable use or rested flat on any surface such as a table. A manual on/off switch on the lantern makes it easy to save the battery from wasted use so that it ll take less time in the sun to fully recharge it. The San Rafael II Solar Mission Lantern also makes for a great emergency light to have handy around the home due to the fact it is charged naturally by the sun during the day to give electricityfree light at night.

Dixie Mission

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The United States Army Observation Group, commonly known as the Dixie Mission, was the first U.S. effort to establish official relations with the Communist Party of China and the Peoples Liberation Army, then headquartered in the mountainous city of Yanan. This mission was launched on 22 July 1944 during World War II, and lasted until 11 March 1947. In addition to establishing relations, the goal was to investigate the Communist Party politically and militarily, and determine if the U.S. would benefit from establishing liaison. John S. Service, of the United States Department of State, was responsible for political analysis, and Colonel David D. Barrett of the United States Army performed the military analysis. Initially, they reported that the Chinese Communists might be useful wartime and postwar ally, and that the atmosphere in Yanan was more energetic and less corrupt than in Nationalist areas. The Physics of Solar Flares

The Physics of Solar Flares

$101.96

Few phenomena have stirred the imaginations of solar scientists as much as the explosive energy of solar flares. In The Physics of Solar Flares, first published in 1988, Einar TandbergHanssen and A. Gordon Emslie approach this subject by drawing heavily on experimental data from the Solar Maximum Mission, as well as other groundbased and spaceborne instruments. The data are incorporated into many theoretical investigations. The authors put the main emphasis on understanding the underlying physical processes. Starting from the language of physics, the authors guide the reader into the more specialised concepts of solar physics. The book is divided into two main parts: four chapters set the essentials of physics needed to attack the complexities of flare phenomena, and then a further four treat different aspects of the phenomena. This important book is aimed primarily at beginning graduate students who are assumed to have knowledge of basic physics. Author: TandbergHanssen, Einar/ Emslie, A. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Ocean Surface Topography Mission (OSTM) on the Jason2 satellite is an international Earth observation satellite mission that continues the sea surface height measurements begun in 1992 by the joint NASA/CNES TOPEX/Poseidon mission and followed by the NASA/CNES Jason1 mission launched in 2001. Like its two predecessors, OSTM/Jason2 uses highprecision ocean altimetry to measure the distance between the satellite and the ocean surface to within a few centimeters. These very accurate observations of variations in sea surface heightalso known as ocean topographyprovide information about global sea level, the speed and direction of ocean currents, and heat stored in the ocean.
