Solar Radiation Management

If a plasma massive solar flare occurs, how long does radiation pass through the earth and we should all stay home?
I remember a question asked yesterday about a solar plasma torch in which a radiation wave is sweeping past the earth at this time current. I had a dream last night that a massive solar flare plasma was produced and sent a bomb to heat the earth. (All thing is very pretty and I wanted to make a picture of him with my camera, but me and others with me in the dream also had to dodge the bomb heat.) Moreover, the extra warmth will melt immediate and permanent ice caps and glaciers. If a solar flare plasma mass occurs, how long does radiation pass through the earth and we should all stay home? BQ: Is the body of your nation's emergency management prepared a plan to shelter, medicine, food and water provided for all persons in a "stay home test "that can last for days or weeks people avoid exposure to deadly radiation increased?
It must be a huge in 2013, it could destroy your electrical equipment, so be sure and turn your stuff off and plug when not in use, no need to fry your business unnecessarily. Melting of glaciers is a bit farfetched. For a person with a healthy faith, you very worried lol

Techniques for Estimation of Solar Radiation $101.96 In recent years, industrialization has been observed to be the main culprit globally, responsible for the pollution of the atmosphere. This has not only caused global warming, but also affected the transmissivity of the terrestrial region and thereby, severely affected the amount of solar radiation received by the earth. This work is an outcome of an attempt to study the different techniques/models for the estimation of global solar radiation on horizontal surface. The emphasis is on an understanding of the subject as well as on the different methods of calculation. The subject matter has been distributed in to five chapters. In Chapter 1, the introduction of the problem has been outlined. In Chapter 2, detailed formulations for the estimation of solar radiation by sunshine hour duration models have been presented. In Chapter 3, the temperature parameter is taken under consideration for the estimation of solar radiation. In Chapter 4, estimation includes all the other models which include climatic parameters such as latitude, altitude, transmissivity, albedo, humidity etc. In Chapter 5, possible areas of future work have been discussed. Responses of Plant to UVB Radiation $380.76 The research in this book covers papers on a great number of research projects on the responses of plants and crops of natural terrestrial ecosystems, of agroecosystems, and of aquatic ecosystems, to enhanced solar UVB as a result of stratospheric ozone depletion. Some introductory chapters deal with general aspects of how plants respond to UVB radiation. Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) is a primary energy resource for terrestrial plants, necessary for plant growth. Inevitably terrestrial plants absorb UVB when exposed to solar radiation. The spectral balance between PAR and UVB is discussed in several chapters. The responses of plants and ecosystems from the Antarctic and Arctic to enhanced solar UVB radiation as a consequence of the hole in the ozone layer are considered in some detail. In addition the papers in the book discuss the problem of how responses of plants to UVB radiation interact with other environmental factors. The book is of great importance for those who are involved in global change topics: biologists, ecologists, earth scientists, agronomists, environmental scientists, and those who develop environmental policy. Radiation Hazard in Space $127.37 This book gives a modern picture of the Earths radiation environment and dynamics of radiation conditions in the heliosphere. The present monograph, unlike the reviews published earlier, treats the problem in selfcontained form, in all its associations from fundamental astrophysical, geophysical, and biological aspects to technical, engineering, aircraft and astronautical applications. The monograph includes a large amount of new data on the main sources of natural radiation hazard (terrestrial radiation belts, solar cosmic rays and galactic cosmic rays), accumulated during the last several decades of space research. As a result of the information burst in space physics, there are a lot of new interesting theoretical concepts, prediction models and ideas that deserve attention. The author gives an extensive bibliography, which covers impartially the main achievements, failures, problems and prospects in this field. The book will be helpful for a wide audience of space physicists, designers, engineers and other specialists in the practical cosmonautics (astronautics). Solar Tower $70.1 A solar tower is a structure used to support equipment for studying the sun, and is typically part of solar telescope designs. Solar towers are used to raise the observation equipment above the atmospheric disturbances caused by solar heating of the ground and the radiation of the heat into the atmosphere. Traditional observatories do not have to be placed high above ground level as they do most of their observation at night when ground radiation is at a minimum. The horizontal Snow solar observatory was built on Mount Wilson in 1904. It was soon found that heat radiation was disrupting observations. Almost as soon as the Snow Observatory opened, plans were started for a 60 foot tall tower that opened in 1908 followed by a 150 foot tower in 1912. The 60 foot tower is currently used to study helioseismology while the 150 foot tower is active in UCLAs Solar Cycle Program. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F. Ultraviolet(uv) Radiation Measurement in Africa $124.27 Surface solar ultraviolet radiation measurement is uneasy task due to the characteristics of the determining factors like aerosol, stratospheric and tropospheric ozone and precipitation. We found this study important for travelers, tourists, industries, infrastructure builders, farmers, health practitioners and radiation researchers for ultraviolet radiation in excess affects health (causes skin cancer and eye disease called cataract), infrastructure, yield of crops, and service time of industrial products. In this research, different models have been devised that have considered the effects of those factors in the continent of Africa. Based on our models, ozone has the highest contribution for the increase or decrease of surface UV, clouds have moderate contribution and aerosols have the least contribution. The amount of skin burning UV (erythermal UV) in Africa is high. According to the world standard the possible ranges of erythermal UV is from 4 to 9 in UV index (UVI) (Moderate to High). Solar Urticaria $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Solar urticaria (SU) is a rare condition in which exposure to ultraviolet or UV radiation, or sometimes even visible light, induces a case of urticaria or hives that can appear in both covered and uncovered areas of the skin. It is classified as a type of physical urticaria. The classification of disease types is somewhat controversial. One classification system distinguished various types of SU based on the wavelength of the radiation that causes the breakout; another classification system is based on the type of allergen that initiates a breakout. Polarimetric Studies of the Solar Atmosphere $125.85 This book describes the design and development of an instrument called the Solar Vector Magnetograph or SVM. This instrument maps the magnetic field of the solar active regions. The magnetic field of solar active regions is responsible for the eruptive phenomena on the sun which expel large amounts of highenergy particles and radiation in the interplanetary space posing danger for human activities in space. The careful measurement of solar magnetic field is very important to track its evolution which may be useful for forecasting the solar eruptive events. The instrument SVM was developed by Dr. Sanjay Gosain during his Ph.D. at Udaipur Solar Observatory, India for which he received best thesis award by Astronomical Society of India. This book describes how the highcadence magnetic field measurements can be done by using a tunable FabryPerot etalon and a polarimeter. This book is useful for any solar astronomer who wishes to develop an instrument for measuring solar magnetic fields or wishes to understand how solar magnetic field is measured using Zeemaneffect diagnostics. The techniques of optical polarimetry is also discussed in depth.
