Why did some solar stocks explode on no news April 15, while others were quiet?

Canadian Solar (CSIQ) up 24.54%
JA Solar (JASO) up 16.5%
Trina Solar (TSL) up 17.53

I couldn't find any news on these stocks. Oil was down, and other solar stocks didn't have big moves (Evergreen Solar (ESLR), SunPower (SPWR), SunTech (STP), and MEMC (WFR), for example). Any news would be appreciated.

Congrats on your timely purchase, jebediahbartlett. I got in ahead of you but you made more money with larger position. BTW, how did you get to be a top contributor? I have about as many points as you but I'm not rated.

Thanks for heads-up on Cramer, smartestmanalive. Anything Cramer says will fuel a rally, which usually falls back. I'll be putting stops on a few shares of JASO and TSL, though overall I'm into solar for the long term.

Interestingly, semiconductors and oil are weak, while banks are taking the lead. The predominant emotion in this market right now is fear. Not fear of losing money, but fear of being left behind as we go straight up without an opportunity to buy a dip. Clearly the bulls have the momentum, but this feeling a bit frothy and is probably a good time to lock in some gains. Just remember -- "He who lives by momentum, dies by momentum."
