In today's energy climate, why aren't new home builds installing geo-thermal units vs the usual technology?

Why are they not installing solar attic ventilators ($300) and hot-water-on-demand systems vs the same 1940s hot water tank?

Will we ever move on to new technology (that currently exists) or are we trapped in a 20th century blueprint?

Geo-Thermal is used in Imperial County in Ca. Uno-Cal there needs to pump so many chemicals down the well heads to fight corrosion that it emits a low level radiation into the air. We are getting there. In between Indio and Palm Springs Ca. on Interstate Ten there are hundreds of windmills. The thing with the "Tankless Hot Water" heaters is you need one for each sink or bathroom. The ones I have run off 220 and in my area, So.Ca. Edison, before I use one second of power I pay a monthly $150 delivery charge. It would almost be cheaper to run my own generator.
