Henrik Svensmark, a danish scientist, has an idea that the global warming is the result of cosmic rays, or rather, the lack of it. According to Svensmark, the cosmic rays from distant super nova seeds clouds on earth as it condensate the water droplets. But recently, our sun activity creates a greater magnetic field and reduces the quantity of the cosmic rays and there are less clouds in the sky. That, in turn increases the surface temperature since clouds reflect the sun rays.
It is still an unproven theory but it has some credibility.
