how does an Xbox work?

like where does the energy come from?like power factory or international power company....ect. what kind of energy it will be? like solar,hydro, geo-thermal....ect.

Well, if you live in a well-developed country, it is hard to say exactly what source of energy produced the electricity used by your Xbox. The reason for this is because the electric power grid is so inter-connected; many power plants are connected to many common connection points.

At the moment, the vast majority of electricity is produced by using coal, natural gas, or nuclear fuel. Hydro and some renewables make up the rest with oil also being a very small contributor. See the pie chart in the recent energy statistics article (first link).

And finally, the Xbox, like any computer, has a power supply that converts the somewhat high voltage at your home's outlet into a much smaller DC voltage that can be used by the processor, hard drive, etc.

Then the DC voltage drives all the little transistor circuits that do the billions of operations per second needed to let Master Chief respond to your commands as you play Halo.

But remember, it all started as some form of energy produced by a power plant (which one, you probably can't tell).
