Heliocentric theroy daylight versus darkness?
What would happen to the length of day if earth rotated twice as slow as now?
Twice as fast?
What change could i make in solar system, I I wanted to length the daylight and stay constant all year?
1. Twice as fast. The day is directly porportional the the earths rotational period.
2. The question is confusing. The entire earth, over the course of one full year, does receive equal amounts of sunlight and darkness, but it is not constant in a day by day sense, as you know, the nearer to the poles and the solstice, the less "equal" each day is.
The only way to eliminate this, would be to change the tilt of the earth, to 0 degrees, instead of it's current 23.5. That way, no matter what speed the earth was spinning, as long as that speed didn't change, you would receive equal amounts of daylight and nitghtime every day, for every location on earth. (Technically not true, a mountain top would have a few more minutes of sunlight each day than in a deep valley, because of the curvature of the earth, but this is mostly insignificant in this question.)
