Training in Wind Energy
Training in Wind Energy
Energy is on everyone’s mind these days with heating fuel, electricity and gasoline climbing while our income seems to stay dormant or even decreasing. Although wind power has always been a known source of energy, serious research on this alternative method for fuel was not taken seriously until recently. According to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), wind power is the fastest growing energy source in the world, soaring at an estimated rate of 30% each year. WindTraining is now becoming a vocation of choice with programs and courses becoming more available.
What is there to learn about wind? Plenty. The study of global wind patterns can be an entire course of study and is a critical stage of wind training. Wind speeds and the type of atmospheric circulation measurer how much power will be generated at different locations around the world. For instance, Afghanistan doesn’t have the same type of climate and air pressure as Alaska so the wind factors would be entirely different. Another segment in WindTraining.net wind training is the area of wind assessment and its different levels. How to consult a wind map, obtaining measured data or taking your own measurements are all skilled positions within this industry.
Engineering and surveying degrees are invaluable in the wind energy trade. The design and specifications of the equipment are important to a well functioning wind turbine as well as having professional surveyors determine unit placement. And because many times energy is stored or sold back to utility companies, knowledge of electricity, both mechanical and technical, is another skill that is in great demand. Remember, less than 1% of the world is now operational through the power of wind but in less than ten years, this amount could grow to over 20%. Wind power is clean, cheap and socially acceptable.
Searching for wind training is still fairly young but there are excellent courses out there is you are looking at wind energy as a career. Begin with state and municipal agencies in your area and expand to national environmental organizations to see that your options are in energy educational programs. Many agencies are now offering scholarships in an attempt to attract students into the wind and solar energy sector. Energy service providers and manufacturers may also have their own courses set up for existing and new employees that pay as you learn, a type of internship, if you will.
There are also jobs for those who do not possess degrees or certifications such as manufacturing and clerical but why not take advantage of a long-term opportunity and begin a new career, helping the planet at the same time. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and visit organizations of the wind-training sector. We are all learning and the industry will welcome you and anyone who has the same interest in energy and a desire to create a brighter, more fuel efficient future.

Investment in Wind Energy in Europe $101.96 Wind energy industry is young and has been growing rapidly for the past 15 years, with over half of global installed wind power capacity located in Europe. Although there has been a large amount of literature focusing on the development of wind power in Europe, little econometric research has been done in this area. This book sets to find out whether there is a direct relationship between the fuel prices and the level of investment in wind power in the EU countries. The research is based on six year panel data on the European Union countries. The results of the research are as follows. No direct link has been found between the fuel prices and the investment in wind power. Moreover, wind energy support schemes which are unobserved factors in the model, have been found to have an impact on the investment in wind power capacity. On top of it, GDP per capita has a positive and statistically significant effect on the investment in wind power, suggesting that European countries in the higher income range were more likely to invest in wind power in 20012006 rather than those in the lower income range. This work should be especially useful for energy policy researchers and economists. Promotional Discourse of Wind Energy $113.11 In recent years, an increased global awareness of the worlds energy challenge has fostered a corresponding global demand for producers of alternative energy resources to become effective promoters of their products and brands benefits. Despite the topics relevant nature, however, little research has so far set out to explore the specific discursive and promotional means by which alternative energy resources are promoted today. With special focus on three of the worlds leading wind turbine manufacturers promotional discourse of wind energy, this book therefore investigates how Vestas, Suzlon and General Electric promote wind energy and their brands through multimodal and persuasive means in webmercials on the Internet. In doing so, it proposes that an interrelatedness of the fields of multimodality and persuasion has significant consequences for the promotion of wind energy in the three types of webmercials. The study is considered relevant for students of communications and discourse fields and professionals who wish to become literates of promotional discourse related to the worlds energy challenge. Wind Boom, Wind Bust by Brady, Jonathan [Paperback] $114.71 During the last decade, wind energy has become one of the fastest growing sources of energy in the world. Government employed regulatory and financial incentives have played a salient role in this rapid expansion of wind energy production and industry. Interestingly, some advanced industrial nations, such as Germany, have become pioneers of this wind boom while others, Canada, for example, have been slower to harness this energy supply and the economic benefits associated with a robust domestic wind industry. This study examines what conditions affect the will and ability of political leaders to create incentives that stimulate private investment in their countrys wind industry. This analysis should help explain why a government of one advanced industrial state adjusted market conditions in order to strongly encourage the redirection of private capital into the wind industry during the early 1990s, while the government of a similarly advanced industrial state did not. The book is addressed to professionals in the energy sector, investment community and policy divisions of national and regional governments. It is also directed towards scholars of energy policy and of the dynamic interplay between the state and the market. Darrieus Wind Turbine $76.47 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Darrieus wind turbine is a type of vertical axis wind turbine used to generate electricity from the energy carried in the wind. The turbine consists of a number of aerofoils usuallybut not always vertically mounted on a rotating shaft or framework. This design of wind turbine was patented by Georges Jean Marie Darrieus, a French aeronautical engineer in 1931. The Darrieus type is theoretically just as efficient as the propeller type if wind speed is constant, but in practice this efficiency is rarely realised due to the physical stresses and limitations imposed by a practical design and wind speed variation. There are also major difficulties in protecting the Darrieus turbine from extreme wind conditions and in making it selfstarting Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 104 Publication Date: 2010/07/01 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.01 x 0.24 inches |
