Wind Power Potential Canada

business idea - Wind
For several years, environmental protection has attracted much interest and, therefore, several technologies are developed. This is the case of wind energy. Previously, we used this energy source to pump water or grind wheat to make flour. Today, this energy source is still used to pump water but It is mainly used to produce electricity without any negative effect on the environment. The increase in operating costs fossil fuels and nuclear energy have also allowed wind to become much more competitive.
"The wind vertical axis developed by the Canadian has more advantages. "
Wind energy is used for a very long time. It is obtained when the wind pushes against a propeller slightly bent. This obliges all to turn and pump well water or run a generator to produce electricity. There are two types of wind turbines, vertical and horizontal ones. Most wind turbines are horizontal. They have some drawbacks, among others, the generator is located at the top of the tower, making it difficult to maintain and repair. The wind vertical axis, developed by Canadians, has several advantages. First access to the main generator and mechanical components are located at the foot of the tower. In Moreover, no system to direct the turbine into the wind direction is needed. This turbine is still in development, but it is anticipated that when fully operational, it will result in a substantial commercial
Wind energy is extracted from the wind through a turbine and then converted into electricity by a generator. The current generator is sinusoidal and when it is connected to the grid, its frequency must be the same as the network electric; is 60 Hertz. As the speed of the wheel determines the frequency of the generator current, it is necessary that the turbine rotates at a constant speed. For this reason, most energy is not extracted from the wind. Today, it is very important that the device operates at very efficiency high. The same principle applies to wind turbines. In addition, researchers have discovered that it is possible to extract more energy Wind correcting courses to obtain a sinusoidal current. Then, with the help of a converter, the current is transformed back into a wave sinusoidal but with a fixed frequency of 60 Hertz. This means that the turbine can turn almost any speed and thus extract more energy. Although the converter is often very complex and expensive, the energy gain is worth it.
The question now, how much can cost a turbine Wind? It costs a little over $ 1.00 for each watt of power. A system of wind turbines with a capacity of 10 kilowatts (KW) costs about $ 10 000.00. For a wind turbine is economically viable, it must be installed in a region where the winds blow so intense. It is often advisable to perform a study on the potential region to determine the strength and height of the wind for a whole year. The regions bordering the ocean and open spaces are usually ideal for extracting wind energy. In northern Canada, there are systems in place to produce electricity. Since the grid is not present in all communities, a diesel generator for a turbine is often used. This reduces operating costs of the diesel system.
Wind power also has disadvantages, including unpredictable wind. For this reason, utilities have great difficulty accepting this energy source. In most cases, a wind turbine is installed with a diesel generator or simply plugged into the mains. The turbine can not operate alone. Similarly, in some communities, the emergence turbine is very important. The turbines are often monumental in size and it is therefore difficult to accept such a unit within the population. Energy Wind is the only source of electricity whose harmful ecological effects are virtually nonexistent. This energy source does not emit harmful Environment and furthermore, it is as competitive as other sources of electricity. Today, people are aware to reduce harmful greenhouse gases on the environment. Therefore, wind energy represents a source of energy for the future of Canadians.

Developing Wind Power in South Africa $108.33 The South African electricity industry is easily the largest in Africa, yet it has been unable to meet the countrys energy demands despite its masselectrification programme. Power cuts since late 2007 have become standard practice, while close to a third of the countrys households are not connected to the grid. South Africa also faces environmental problems, particularly in the form of water shortages, and is in the top quartile for most carbon dioxide equivalent gases released by a country. This report evaluates wind power as a sustainable solution to increasing South Africas electricity generating capacity. To identify the countrys wind energy potential, the resource conditions are examined, followed by an analysis of the electricity industry and incentives that aim to promote the adoption of renewable energy. The findings indicate that the country has abundant locations with favourable wind conditions. It is also apparent that new sustainable generation capacity is required and that the recently introduced governmental incentives render certain renewable energy technologies economically feasible. Social Acceptance of Wind Power Generation in Scotland $103.56 In the fight against climate change, the Scottish Government has a commitment for half of its total electricity consumption to be produced from renewable sources by 2020. The lions share of the green electricity needed for achieving these very ambitious targets will have to come from wind power. However, recent years show that successfully developing new wind farm sites is far from easy. A certain lack of social acceptance on the local level frequently plays a significant role in this, despite opinion polls indicating an approval rate of over 80 amongst the general public. Explanations for that gap have been sought to help develop recommendations that might facilitate in successfully working with communities to achieve the set climate change targets. Knowledge of wind power generation is sometimes mentioned as a potential factor for peoples attitudes towards wind farms in their own communities. However, research on what actual level of knowledge people possess is rather sparse and relies on the personal selfassessment of the respondents. Therefore, this research focuses on an objective way of furthering the understanding of what people in Scotland know on wind power generation. Power Potential for a Dam Site $103.56 Shortage of power and energylacks sufficient, reliable and affordable power supply for sustainable economic growth in a country. With the passage of time, the gap between demand and supply of power is widening. Therefore the development of hydropower projects to meet the energy requirements of local population is the best solution of energy problem. Flood estimation is a necessary input for the viable design of any hydraulic structure, so in the present study, flow, maximum probable flow and power potential for the proposed Kot Fateh Khan Dam site sorted out on the basis of past twenty four years data of gauging station.
