The debate continues over what is the best form of alternative energy source and what is the most effective method of generating energy. There is no doubt that the depletion of the natural resources of oil is coming. Everyone agrees on this issue. So what is the next?

Just look around to see what is most abundant on Earth? Air and water are resources that can be exploited to provide our growing population of energy. Parallel to this, the most powerful "generator", the sun. The question is, how can we harness the power of economically efficient and environmentally friendly?

To date, wind energy added more than 2% of electricity to the grid of the United States. For other countries, this number is higher. The first investment of adding a wind power generator is minimal compared to coal, oil or nuclear power plant. The footprint of a wind is much smaller. Sounds like this is the answer, but ....

The issues that come with wind generators are many. Some opponents have the following arguments:

Wind turbines are noisy - is somewhat true. The windmills of old generation was definitely noisy. The constant spinning a big fan will certainly create noise pollution. Add to that several turbines on a "firm Wind "and the noise can be deafening. The good news is, it is the old generation wind turbines. The new version of wind turbines are much quieter and more efficient, requiring less create the same amount of electricity.

The turbines are Pollution of view - There is something smooth on a pile of fans rotating in synchronism along the side of a hill or mountain. But having a large mill in the middle of a neighborhood could pose some problems. But what is the compromise? I trade the addition of a windmill for a lower bill electricity and better air to breathe, would you?

There is never constant wind - There are very few times there is no air movement in some areas. The areas of the desert in southern California have consistently airflow. Sides of the mountains have always breezes and the U.S. Central air circulation constant. The question is when, not if.

Never-the-less, there will always be debate about the new idea or possibility of change. There are advantages and disadvantages to everything. But in the case of wind energy is much framework of electricity generation, we're already there. We just need to go further and faster.
