With rising oil prices and rising energy costs in general, the increasing demand for home generated power, it either from photovoltaic panels, solar thermal and wind. Among these three options, wind power is by far the option more mature, with the best chance to get a reasonable return on investment in a typical home owning time.

With energy generators wind, there are two general types to consider: generators blade horizontal and vertical wind. generators are horizontal people most associate with such a windmill or wind - they have blades that rotate perpendicular to the ground, with the axis of rotation being horizontal. They have significant advantages in efficiency, but are most effective when placed on a lathe, where they can catch the trail winds higher and are more mechanically complex. In regions rural applications, horizontal generators reign supreme.
